The first word I think of when I think of Marni is fun. Through their outlandish fabrics and silhouettes, they tap into a sense of wonder that’s incredibly rare in luxury fashion. Holding onto that spirit of playful bewilderment was essential while concepting for this project.
The film centers on a carnival tryout in the middle of nowhere. The contestants are hopeless, the judge is torn between awe and disgust, and somewhere off-screen, a crowd is clapping through it all. It’s weird, it’s wonderful, and most importantly- it’s fun.
